Working in healthcare, and specifically in dentistry, is something I am very proud of, yet it also makes me feel humbled.
I am proud every day to come to work, because I know I offer my patients the best I have to give, and that is what they deserve. I am humbled that my patients choose our office and choose me as their dentist, because I know what an intimate relationship it can be when people come to you scared, anxious, or in pain.
It is my personal mission to alleviate those feelings and change my patients’ outlook to one of positivity, empowerment, and overall happiness: one person, one conversation, one visit at a time.
~ Dr. Madeleine Groth
Education and Experience
Growing up in Shreveport, Dr. Madeleine Groth knew she wanted a career in healthcare. She loves helping people, appreciates having the ability to cure or relieve pain, and enjoys educating and encouraging individuals to live a healthier lifestyle.
At the same time, Dr. Groth has an artistic eye, an aptitude for science, and enjoys working with her hands. Dentistry brings together all of Dr. Groth’s interests and strengths, with the added benefit of time to build connections with each person she has the honor to treat.
Dr. Groth graduated from Millsaps College, in Jackson, Mississippi, with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She was a Phi Beta Kappa scholar, the nation’s oldest honor society, with the designation reserved for the top 1% of college graduates. Following her undergraduate studies, Dr. Groth was accepted into the competitive program at Louisiana State University School of Dentistry, where she obtained her Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS).
Since 2016, Dr. Groth has provided personalized, high-quality dental care to residents of the greater Acadiana area. She is known for her calm and gentle manner, the amount of time she dedicates to talking with and getting to know each patient, and the detailed, quality dental care she provides.
Dr. Groth values the relationships she forms with patients and celebrates with each as their oral health, overall wellness, and self-confidence improve through the care she provides. Being able to laugh with patients, and getting to know their families, lives, and interests outside the practice, are gifts that Dr. Groth treasures.
Since graduating from dental school, Dr. Groth has avidly sought out opportunities to further her knowledge and develop new skills. Always staying up-to-date on the latest technology and information allows her to better treat her patients’ needs and offer them the best equipment and services in modern dentistry.
In addition to studying the latest technological innovations and materials in general dentistry, Dr. Groth has completed training in adjunct services, including Botox® and Invisalign®. These additional options expand the dental experience and allow her patients to be candid about their aesthetic goals.
Beyond the Practice
Away from the office, Dr. Groth spends much of her time with family. She and her husband, Jacob, a Lafayette native, have two young daughters, along with a rescue dog and cat. As you might imagine, their household can be busy!
The family loves to be outside, enjoying hiking, fishing, and adventures at Moncus Park on the weekends. When she finds time for herself, Dr. Groth enjoys coffee and escaping into a book.
In the Community
Dr. Groth and her husband are passionate about developing the downtown Lafayette area, believing a vibrant city deserves a vibrant downtown. They want to encourage new and legacy businesses, as well as encourage her patients, to enjoy all that downtown has to offer.
They are also big supporters of Lafayette’s newest public park, Moncus Park, and are honored to be among the founding members.
Additionally, Dr. Groth and Jacob are active volunteers with their church, St. Barnabas, where they teach youth group. And Dr. Groth is a Junior League member and has been actively involved with fundraising for the organization’s outreach grants, Junior Quiz Bowl, and sponsorship development committees.
Giving back to and strengthening the community is important to her family, and to Dr. Groth as a professional. She wants her practice to be known for more than just incredible dentistry: she wants people to know the office is actively involved in making Lafayette a better place for all, and hopes that her efforts encourage families to move to and stay in the Lafayette area.
Dr. Groth and her husband believes Lafayette deserves amazing resources that are open to the public, including public parks and a thriving downtown, and are here to see it happen!
